Suzhou's total cross-border e-commerce transactions in 2022 increased 41 percent year-on-year, local media reported on March 22.

The city's cross-border e-commerce industry has seen an uptick in growth as the city's government and private enterprises have been working together to improve the industry's ecosystem.

Statistics show that the number of Suzhou enterprises on popular e-commerce sites such as Amazon, AliExpress, Alibaba International Station, and Made-in-China.com is the highest in the province.

In 2016, the city was named among the second batch of comprehensive pilot zones for cross-border e-commerce in China.

In July 2022, Suzhou established its first cross-border e-commerce enterprise service center in Huqiu district. The service center currently has a partnership with Japan's largest electrical retailer, Yamada Denki.

The other cross-border e-commerce enterprise service center was established in Changshu, a county-level city, that same year.

As of the end of last year, Suzhou's cross-border e-commerce service centers have served 600 companies, and organized more than 40 training and salon events on cross-border e-commerce.
