Suzhou is currently promoting the high-quality development of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, aiming to establish a "1+15" AI industry application promotion system.

Suzhou is currently home to over 2,000 AI-related enterprises, including 378 enterprises above designated size, 22 listed companies, and seven global unicorn companies.
More than 20 universities and institutions, including Soochow University and the Suzhou Institute for Advanced Research of the University of Science and Technology of China, have established faculty of AI in the city, and the city has already fostered 49 municipal-level innovation alliances.
Suzhou has been conducting AI application scenario demonstration projects and innovative enterprise selections for four consecutive years. A total of 78 demonstration projects and 135 enterprises have been recognized, with 111 application scenarios released.
The city has held 22 "AI+" application scenario supply and demand matchmaking meetings, resulting in cooperation intentions from over 70 enterprises. The city has also established an AI application zone at the Suzhou Big Data Exchange, listing 45 AI products and solutions.
It currently has 15 intelligent computing centers, with 11 already operational and four under construction. The city's intelligent computing scale has exceeded 2,900 Petaflops (P), and it is expected to surpass 20,000 P by 2027.
By 2027, Suzhou aims to achieve an AI-related industrial output value exceeding 300 billion yuan ($42.01 billion), attract and cultivate one advanced foundational model at the domestic and international level, achieve more than 50 national-level registrations for generative AI services and deep synthesis service algorithms, and nurture over 300 vertical domain models at the municipal level.
