From January to April this year, Suzhou's foreign trade saw a notable increase of 10.1 percent. Among them, the growth of cross-border e-commerce stands out, emerging as a new driving force for Suzhou's foreign trade development.
In April this year, the cross-border e-commerce imports and exports declared through Suzhou's customs management platform reached 1.94 billion yuan ($267.46 million), marking a remarkable growth of 67.7 percent and setting a new historical record.
In addition to "selling globally," Suzhou's cross-border e-commerce continues to unleash its potential in "buying globally" as well.
At the Cainiao Global cross-border e-commerce platform logistics warehouse located in Wujiang district, goods from around the world are gathered, sorted, and distributed, covering self-operated bonded warehouse businesses in the Yangtze River Delta region and even nationwide.
Currently, Suzhou boasts over 5,400 cross-border e-commerce brands. In the recently released "China's Top 100 Cross-border E-commerce Brands" list, seven Suzhou enterprises made the list, ranking third nationwide.
