A delegation from Suzhou to Singapore signed agreements for 40 cooperative projects with local enterprises during a visit from Feb 19 to 23.
During the visit, the Suzhou investment promotion team visited 30 enterprises and institutions, sharing the city's latest developments and promoting its business environment.
The Suzhou Open Innovation and Development Investment Briefing was held in Singapore on Feb 22, during which six regions in Suzhou signed agreements for multiple cooperative projects with Singapore firms.
Huqiu district signed agreements for four projects covering high-end manufacturing, new materials, medical equipment, engineering research and development, and international trade. Singapore has so far invested in more than 60 enterprises in Huqiu district.
Kunshan, a county-level city of Suzhou, made a deal with Wilmar International on the construction of Fengchu Kunshan Food Industry Park. The park, with a building area of 500,000 square meters, will start operating early next year. It will boast the largest and most highly integrated food deep processing complex in China, with an expected annual output value of 3 billion yuan ($432.12 million).

The Kangwu Life Health Industry R&D and Production Base was confirmed to be carried out in Wuzhong district, with a total investment of nearly $300 million.
Officials from the Suzhou bureau of commerce noted that Singapore and Suzhou are long-term strategic partners. Suzhou will hold an investment event in Hong Kong soon to promote the city's latest policies related to investment and its business environment.
