A Singaporean delegation led by Hu Liyan, director of the China Division of Enterprise Singapore visited Suzhou, Jiangsu province, for economic and trade cooperation on Sept 8.
Sun Jianjiang, director of the Suzhou Commerce Bureau, welcomed the delegation and considered that there has been a strong bond between Singapore and Suzhou in trade and bilateral investment. Sun outlined the city's economic and trade cooperation with Singapore in recent years as well as its achievements in opening-up and the construction of high-end industrial clusters and free trade zones.
Sun said that Suzhou plans to deepen sci-tech innovation cooperation with its partners, to promote opening up and transformation of its manufacturing industry, and to develop the service trade and digital trade industries. Also, he expected deeper green development cooperation, more business projects and an improved business environment. Sun was looking forward to building closer ties with Singapore to achieve win-win results.
Hu said that Suzhou has a strong economy and a good business environment, which can help Singapore's enterprises develop better in the city. She hoped that they could strengthen cooperation in fields such as the digital economy and biomedicine.
