Suzhou in East China's Jiangsu province was rated "excellent" and ranked sixth in China in the Evaluation Report on China's Business Environment 2021 recently released by the National Development and Reform Commission.
It was the first time Suzhou was included in the evaluation.
In the Business Environment Survey of Private Enterprises conducted by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce in 2021, Suzhou ranked third among domestic cities and was named the "city with the best business environment reputation".
Suzhou has been selected by the World Bank and Forbes magazine as the "Best City for Investment Environment in China" and "Best Business City in Chinese Mainland", and has been named the "Most attractive Chinese city in the eyes of foreign talent" for the past 10 years.
The Regulations of Suzhou on Optimizing the Business Environment were approved by the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress in December 2021, making Suzhou the first city in the province to issue local regulations on the business environment.
The regulations, which took effect on March 1, show Suzhou's efforts to optimize its business environment under a standardized and law-based system.
