Suzhou Double 12 Shopping Festival to benefit consumers

The Suzhou commerce bureau hosted three meetings on Nov 17 and 18 with e-commerce platforms, enterprises, and shopping malls taking part in the second Suzhou Double 12 Shopping Festival.

According to officials, preparation work for the shopping gala is on track. The event will gain support from leading e-commerce platforms like Alibaba, Tencent, JD.com, Meituan, and Douyin, popular brands like Taihu Snow Silk, Goodbaby, and Ecovacs Robotics, as well as shopping centers like Matro, Suzhou Renmin Mall, and Suzhou Center.

Consisting of both online and offline events, efforts will be made to bring benefits to the public and help enterprises develop trade, according to officials.

Xie Xiongfei, deputy manager of Suzhou Renmin Mall, said that besides various sales events, the mall will provide a special area for "made-in-Suzhou" products during the shopping festival.

Xie Ye, deputy chairman of online travel agency Tongcheng-Elong, said that a series of travel routes and plans will be provided during the shopping festival, aiming to showcase the unique culture and charm of the city to people in Suzhou and surrounding cities.

The second Suzhou Double 12 Shopping Festival will officially kick off in December and last until February next year. It will include a series of consumption promotion activities involving online consumption, business district consumption, automobile consumption, and home improvement consumption.
