The Suzhou municipal government held a key video business conference on Sept 16 with South Korean lithium battery electrolyte company Enchem, and Air Liquide – the French gas, technologies and services company.

Wu Qingwen, acting mayor of Suzhou city – which is located in East China's Jiangsu province – participated in the meeting, along with Enchem president Oh Jung Kang and Air Liquide senior executive Philippe BLOSTEIN.

Wu said Suzhou was striving to achieve the goals for peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality set by China.

Oh Jung Kang said Enchem would continue to increase its investment in Suzhou and give full play to its industrial, technological and trade advantages. He said it would set up its China headquarters and research and development center in the city and speed up the construction of production plants there.

Meanwhile, Philippe BLOSTEIN said Air Liquide planned to further upgrade its headquarters in Suzhou and carry out in-depth cooperation with the city in the field of hydrogen energy.
