Suzhou city in East China's Jiangsu province recently reached an agreement with the Shanghai Airport Authority to initiate a city terminal project, local media outlets reported.
According to the agreement, Suzhou and Shanghai airports will work together to open a city airport terminal in Suzhou so as to boost the urban integration of the two cities and offer more convenience for their residents.
Once completed, passengers can enjoy services including ticketing, check-in, baggage pre-screening, "door-to-door" baggage transfer, as well as VIP lounge and passage at the new terminal. They can also use various forms of transport, such as public buses, chartered buses and high-speed trains, to reach airports in Shanghai.
Travelers who have checked in their luggage at the Suzhou city terminal can directly board their planes at Shanghai airports using the "fast-pass" services.
Moreover, the new terminal will meet travelers' shopping, working, and leisure needs.
Shanghai is a well-known international aviation hub with an annual passenger and cargo throughput that are among the highest in the world.
The Suzhou City Terminal will be built at Yuanrong Times Square, in the core area of Tianmu Street along Jinji Lake. It is reachable by various means of transportation.
