The special committee for daily chemical consumer goods of the fifth China International Import Expo Enterprise Alliance held a meeting with companies in the Suzhou Industrial Park on Aug 24.
Established in September 2020, the special committee consists of several industry leaders including Estee Lauder, L'Oreal, Shiseido, Unilever, P&G, and Kao.
Deputy Director-General of the CIIE Bureau Liu Fuxue said he expects cosmetics exhibitors to forge new cooperative ties with companies in the Suzhou Industrial Park following the meeting.
Liu Wei, vice-president of public affairs of Estee Lauder, the current president of the special committee, said the daily chemical consumer goods exhibition at the previous expos had introduced many new brands, products, technologies and services to the Chinese market.
Set up in 1994 in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, the park is a significant cooperation project carried out by the Chinese and Singaporean governments, and is expected to become a highland for high-end companies, including those from the cosmetics sector.
Professor Chao Gangling, an expert at macroeconomics and consumer market from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, discussed the new driving forces behind cosmetics consumption with members of the special committee during the event.
